The 2014 Château-Clinet purple-ruby color gives way to a very aromatic nose, dominated by delicious notes of jammy raspberries, black fruit and liquorice. Fragrances which then evolve towards peppery and toasted touches. Pomerol has a creamy and silky texture, the Merlot being energized by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Intense and sweet at the same time, the mouth reveals aromas of cherries and berries. A balanced and refreshing wine that suggests success a fine vintage. Château Clinet is located in the heart of the Pomerol appellation, 40 km around the city of Bordeaux. Placed on the best plots of the famous Graves de Günz terrace, terroir of the largest Merlots in the world, it is one of the most prestigious areas of the appellation. A terroir of old gravel, deep clay and iron grime in the basement. The cultivation of the vine is carried out with the utmost respect for the environment, giving preference to tillage and grassing rather than chemical treatments, trusting human hands rather than the profitability of the machine. To the natural assets of the appellation and the resources of the domain, we must add the development of cellars at the cutting edge of technology to get the best from grapes and wine. Alliance of a generous soil, an accomplice climate and the clairvoyance of the men, this extraordinary wine is today unanimously hailed as one of the most prestigious wines in the world. Since the XIXth century, the families who have succeeded each other at the head of the Château Clinet have worked to improve the quality of its production. In the 1860s, the estate belonged to the Constant family, then to the Arnaud family, which also owned the Château Pétrus. In the 20th century, the property long belonged to the Audy family. The arrival of Jean-Michel Arcaute, the owner's son-in-law, at the head of the Château in the 1980s, marked a real turning point. He established revolutionary methods in the management of the vineyard and increased the fame of clinet all over the world, also supported by michel rolland. In 1998, Jean-Louis Laborde bought the Château. He then devotes his energy and his foresight to continue the evolution instilled by the previous master. Since 2003, his son, Ronan, has managed the estate.
